APU Net ID Password Out Of Sync With Windows Login
print icon

If you have an APU-issued Windows computer and recently changed your APU password, your computer login may not accept your new password right away.  This happens is because the Windows device needs to be connected to APU network when signing in.  This often happens if you are working remotely, as your computer doesn't have an opportunity to connect to APU servers and pick up the new password.

If you are working on campus, take the following steps:

  1. Ensure you are connected to APUWIFI or connected to a hard-wired internet connection.
  2. Once you are logged into your Windows device, click the Windows button on the bottom left corner of the screen, click the User icon, then click "Lock."
  3. Log into your device again using your new password

Take the following steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Sign into your laptop with your old credentials
  2. Login to APU's VPN client.  If you don't have this installed yet, you can follow these instructions.
  3. Once you are logged into both your Windows device and the VPN, click the Windows button on the bottom left corner of the screen, click the User icon, then click "Lock."
  4. Log into your device again using your new password
