Engstrom/Trinity/Adams: Wired ethernet ports are offered in the on-campus dorms; however they may not be activated. If the ethernet port is not active in your room, please email us at [email protected]. When a request is received, an IT representative will be dispatched to activate your port. If the port stops working, please email us at [email protected]. Please note that ethernet ports are not automatically activated at the start of the school year and is only activated upon a request submission. An example of an ethernet port is shown below:

 

How to use ethernet ports in dorms: When using the ethernet port in your dorm, the device you are plugging in must have it’s Media Access Control (MAC) address registered in the mydevices.apu.edu portal. This includes desktops, laptops, gaming systems, Smart TVs, etc. Please be sure to register the ethernet MAC address and NOT the wireless MAC address of the device you are plugging in. Please note that IT does not supply the ethernet cable, and the student must purchase it for their own use.

Shire Mods: At this time, the Shire Mods do not have ethernet ports. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 

University Village: Frontier routers are located in University Village apartments which include their own ethernet ports. To use the port, please locate the Frontier router in your unit, and look at the back of the router. There will be several ethernet ports located on the back that are automatically activated once the router is set up.
