Getting Started With APU's Community Discord Server

During this season of remote learning we are experimenting with Discord to create a virtual space to give students the opportunity to make new friends, connect with students, and hangout in between classes.

Create a new Discord account first

Watch this How To video or follow the instructions below 

  1. Go to the Discord registration page. If you already have a Discord account, skip down to the “How to join the APU Discord Server” section below.
  2. Enter the following information and then click Continue
    • Email - Use your personal email address or your APU email address.
    • Username - Something unique, doesn't have to be APU related.
    • Password - Don’t use the same password as your APU account.
    • Date of Birth
  3. Go to the email account you registered with Discord and open the “Verify Email Address for Discord” message. Click the Verify Email button.
  4. Click Continue to Discord

How to join the APU Discord server

  1. Go to your APU Gmail and open the Discord invite email. Copy the “Access Code” and then click on the Invite Link. Sign in to Discord if needed.
  2. Click on the Freddy Cougar icon located on the top left of the Discord app
  3. Type the following command: !verify and the 6-digit access code, then press the Return or Enter key on your keyboard
    • Ex: !verify 012345
  4. After your access code has been verified, click the APU Icon on the left. You now have access to APU’s Discord server. Browse all the different text and voice channels.

    I don't have an email inviting me to the server. Can I get one?
    Also, is there a graduate level server to join?
