What is the Network Filter?

The APU Network Filter

What is it?

APU’s network has a web filter that prohibits students, staff, and faculty from accessing Internet content that does not comply with APU’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy. In an attempt to visit a site that has been blocked, the user will be redirected to a security message with information as to why the particular page has been blocked, based on a categorical description.

Can websites be unblocked?

Yes!  IMT and Residence Life will review requests to unblock a website on a case-by-case basis. If you believe a website is incorrectly blocked by the APU Network Filter and should be made available to the APU community, submit your request by email to support@apu.edu
