Getting Online for the First Time

If you are getting set up with APU's network for the first time, all you have to do is follow these simple steps.

Prerequisites:

  • Installed and properly-configured 802.11 g -compliant wireless card (or newer)
  • Activated APU NetID and password
  • If you're using a Windows Operating System, we recommend all current Windows Updates be installed.
  • Antivirus Protection is recommended however it is not required. IMT provides a professional-grade Antivirus program which can be downloaded here.

Windows:

1. If your computer has wireless accessibility, the wifi icon will appear in your taskbar in the lower right corner of the screen.

2. Left click this icon and a list of wifi hotspots will appear.  Click on the one labeled APUWIFI.

3. You will be prompted to enter in your APU NetID and password.  Once you have entered in your credentials, click connect.

4. Another screen should display giving you certificate information.  All you have to do here is click accept. 

5. You should now be online! 

 

Macintosh

1. If your computer has wireless accessibility, the wifi icon will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

3. You will be prompted to enter in your APU NetID and password.  Once you have entered in your credentials, click connect.

4. Another screen should display giving you certificate information.  All you have to do here is click accept. 

5. You should now be online! 

 

Antivirus Protection:

While antivirus protection is not required in order to gain access to our network, it is highly recommended. 

If you do not have Antivirus Protection installed, IMT provides a professional-grade Antivirus program which can be downloaded here.
