The following FAQ provides assistance regarding streaming live events from Azusa Pacific University
What do I need to access live or on-demand broadcasts?
Desktop computer users will need Flash 10.0 or greater and an Internet connection with a download speed of at least 1.0 Mbps (1,000 Kbps) for video broadcasts and 50 Kbps for audio-only broadcasts. You can measure your connection speed at www.speedtest.net.
Mobile devices such as (iPhone, iPad, and Android) do not require flash and should work by visiting www.apu.edu/live from your mobile browser. Note performance should be better on WiFi than your 3g/4g connection. Video streaming can consume heavy amounts of 3g/4g bandwidth so make sure to be aware of your usage limits and rates from your carrier.
How do I access archived broadcasts?
Most archive broadcasts are available on 'View Past Events' link on the portal. Private streams are not posted unless requested to do so. Keep in mind that our staff manually edits and prepares audio and video archives before they are posted to the portal, so please allow 2 weeks for those to post. For DVDs for commencements 2015 and beyond, the University Bookstore has them available for sale.
Why am I experiencing low-quality audio or video?
If you're experiencing buffering, which is when the video or audio continually starts and stops, ensure you have sufficient bandwidth and computer resources available by exiting other applications on your computer. Buffering can also occur if there are connection issues on-site. IMT will generally post information in the live.apu.edu portal if this is the case. If you are not experiencing buffering, but encountering other issues, such as pixelated video or distorted audio, there are very likely issues at the hosting site. Please contact the IMT Support Desk at 626-815-5050 or support@apu.edu if you're experiencing quality issues and don't see any messages in the portal regarding technical difficulties.
Who do I contact with a question about the broadcast production?
If you don't have any issues with the quality, but have a question about an element of the production, you can contact the IMT Support Desk at 626-815-5050 or support@apu.edu.
Video and Audio quality varies based on your internet connection speed via your service provider and/or wireless carrier. Slower speed will result in lower quality. Please contact your service provider for questions on your connection speed.
