Description of Service
Sakai is APU's official learning management system (LMS). All face-to-face, blended, and online courses reside on Sakai. All online and some blended and face-to-face classes have master templates. Each faculty should check with their department chair to see what is available for class templates.
While each class differs from another, a Sakai course site typically has the following tools and resources:

Every course has a default site template automatically assigned to it. Online courses have automatically populated from the most recent offering of the course. This content is imported into the course site by the Office of Innovative Teaching and Technology (ITT).
Faculty and students are automatically provided access to the courses they are enrolled in through the University Registrar Office.
The faculty member of record for a course may add additional faculty or staff members to his or her course
Help for Service
The Office of Innovative Teaching and Technology (ITT) provides training as well as a library of resources, training materials, and frequently asked questions.
All tech support for this service is routed through the IMT Support desk at 626-815-5050 and the ticketing system. Immediate tech support is available 24/7 through the IMT Support Desk. Issues requiring higher levels of service for resolution through the ITT department will be address during normal 8-5 business hours.
Faculty members are responsible for the content of their site and that their students are able to access the appropriate material.
Students are responsible to enter the site and follow the instructor's guidelines.
