APU Network Account

Description of Service

Your APU Network Account consists of your APU NetId (username) and Password, and gives you access to various network resources based on your affiliation with the University. APU offers a central authentication service, enabling single-sign-on as much as possible, to prevent you from needing a different username and password for every common APU service you use.

Account management options can be found within the "My Network Account" section of the home.apu.edu portal. There you can change your password and update your email preferences.

Requesting Service

Students gain access to their APU Network Account automatically as part of the admissions process according to the Admissions Office of the appropriate program (Undergraduate, Graduate & Professional Center).

Faculty/Staff gain access to their APU Network Account based on their employment status with the University according to Human Resources.

If you are a department on campus and wish to take advantage of our central authentication (single sign-on service) for a software-based service you provide, please submit a request through support.apu.edu. We support several open standards (CAS, SAML, Shibboleth, InCommon Federation, etc.) and can work with your providers to evaluate options.

Customer Responsibility

Your APU Network Account provides you with access to important personal information, and in the case of faculty and staff, may provide access to private student information.

You should maintain strong passwords and never share them with anyone. If you suspect your password has been compromised, you should change your password immediately from the “My Network Account” section of the home.apu.edu portal, or from the “Forgot your password link” on the sign-in screen.

For tips on what you can do to help keep your account secure, visit security.apu.edu.
